A Family affair with sheep 4-H

This is the week my kids have waited and worked hard for. It is the week that they show their sheep at the 4-H fair. My oldest daughter and her soon to be husband take charge and assist the younger kids with their sheep that they raise from lambs and then carefully groom to be show lamb quality. It is much more involved than one would think. We spend all day at the fairgrounds as they show in many classes. It is really exciting and so far they have done really well with many blue ribbons. At the end of the fair, the sheep are auctioned off and it turns out to be a really productive way to earn money.

Kathy,
How fun for your children! I was at a meeting at my dd's school today for next year's auction (she attends O'Hara School) and since the fairgrounds are so close I kept hearing cows mooing and sheep bleating...we looked at each other and one woman said, "Oh, those cows!"
I said, "Why are we hearing cows?"
She reminded me of the 4-H going on at the fairgrounds...I think that would be so fun and educational for kids to do that....

Everybody and their critter looks great! I hope you all had a great time. When the Rowley kids showed their pigs in Medford, the temperature was over a hundred degress. How awful! We're enjoying our time at Detroit Lake. Temperature is nice, maybe you should come visit. We'll be here till Sunday morning. Later.
